There are a number of ways to guess where the DataBird will land. The following are to list a few:
- Set the landing sites on private property where someone nearby
can scan easily, and phone if they find it. This method requires a bit
of organising yet most economical in the long run.
- Use a radio beacon / transmitter / sonde. The DataBird can be
configured to output modulated data which can be decode by a ground
stations.
Download Sites.Zip With
the use of the Sites prediction application and jetstream prediction models, you
can now determine the likely landing location before actually
launching. Download here. For prediction model, we recommend using the University of Wyoming web-based Balloon Trajectory forecast.
